Engine / Drivetrain
Light and compact 1237 cc liquid-cooled 76-degree V-4 engine pumps out the tremendous power with a distinctive taste and sound.
By combining many of the most advanced Honda technology, engineers managed to create a very compact machine that both smaller and lighter than the V-4 engine in VFR800A.

Unique cylinder layout placed side by side behind the cylinder but close together, and the front of the cylinder wider spaces. This layout allows for a slim, compact “waist” that fit comfortably between the riders legs. This also increases mass centralization, thus contributing to the bike balanced feel and ease of control.


This machine also incorporates a special high-strength Phase-shift symmetry CrankShaft Plus featuring 28 degree crankpin offset to work with 76-degree angle V is essentially negate the primary engine vibration for smooth running. And because it has perfect primary engine balance, the need for balance shaft removed, which allows a more compact engine and also the weight savings almost 3 pounds (1.4 kg).
Lightweight and compact wagon valve Unicam ™ allows for significantly shorter and smaller cylinder head without losing efficiency. This same technology is used in potentially Honda CRF motocross bike.
Also borrowed from the range and CRF RC211V MotoGP bike is a closed crankcase system that reduces pumping losses created by the piston movement, marking the first time this system has been used on road bikes.
Performance of new machines delivered in the most useful and most enjoyable. Linear torque curve with a focus on low-end and midrange, making it possible for drivers to simply roll on and off the gas when turned on through the turn. Control of this effort to make fun VFR1200FA up – this is a sportbike with real-world power that can be used.

A slipper clutch allows quick and enhance controls downshifting slowing down. This is similar to clutch at the CBR1000RR.
A throttle-by-wire replaces the gas cable systems with sophisticated electronics. Providing light, right at the engine fuel metering rpm, the system provides increased accuracy rider control level.
The next generation of shaft-drive system routes under the swingarm pivot point axis to eliminate the squat and lift shafts conventional drives without resorting to complicated and heavy response as that found on some competing models. Special silencer remove loose or jerkiness in the system too much, so smooth on-and off-throttle transition


Chassis / Suspension
Gift layered patented design creates a unique and beautiful at the same time, the optimal air flow and heat management. The gift combines two layers. Air enters between the layers and through the two oval-shaped space at the front of the prizes distributed in the right direction needed to improve the stability of the motor at higher speeds. Plus, by channeling air through a small hole before it reaches the radiator and thereby increase the speed, optimized engine cooling and heat, the air exhausted quickly taken away from drivers and passengers cooler, more comfortable ride. Heat generated by this machine is also channeled away to keep hot air away from riders.
Honda Pro-Arm swingarm one side with a gas-charged shock of useful features spring-preload adjuster far, rebound damping adjustment, and 5.1 inches (130 mm) travel. In front of the offer of VFR1200FA fat, sports-oriented 43 mm inverted cartridge fork with spring preload adjustment and 4.7 inches (120 mm) travel.
The VFR1200FA equipped with a sophisticated braking system is ideal for all round use of the sportbike. New powerful six-piston calipers for the front and two-piston caliper at the rear of acting on full floating disc (320 mm front, 276 mm rear). Honda Combined Braking System to create an optimal balance of front and rear braking forces, while the compact and lightweight Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) allows you to brake with confidence on the surface even harder.
